If you're facing breastfeeding challenges, My-IBCLC is here for you. An experienced lactation consultant who specializes in addressing common issues such as latching difficulties, low milk supply, and pain during breastfeeding is ready to help. We also help troubleshoot and understand more complicated issues. We provide empathetic support and practical solutions to help you overcome these obstacles and ensure a positive breastfeeding experience.
This comprehensive and personalized visit allows you and your lactation consultant to set up an optimal nursing environment in your home. Your IBCLC will check your baby’s weight, and perform a basic wellness exam. She will help you with latch and positioning, and observe a feeding . She will answer any questions or concerns that arise. Is baby getting enough? A “weighted” breastfeeding is done to determine how baby transfers milk. A care plan and follow up recommendations will be made.
Some questions or concerns can be answered quickly and efficiently using a video/tele-helath consultation. These convenient sessions can be used for prenatal education, a home-visit follow up, or for when things are going well, but you just have a few questions. When appropriate, visits can be scheduled same or next day. They are also often covered by insurance!
From birth to breast. Learn about skin to skin and the golden hour after birth. Talk about what happens to help your milk come in and what your baby needs in his first few hours of life. We cover breastfeeding basics, position and latch and more. This class is fun in person, but also can be done virtually or in a small group.
What do all these buttons do? How do I know what size I need? What about the wearable ones? Hands free? How often should I pump? Schedule a Q & A with your IBCLC to get it all figured out.
If you're concerned about the safety of breastfeeding while taking medication, our consultants can provide guidance and support to help you make an informed decision.
The days are LONG but the months fly by. Schedule a back to work visit to discuss pumping and milk supply questions and come up with a plan to continue your nursing relationship while away from baby.
Twins (or more) bring twice (or more) the challenges! Your lactation consultant will be your cheerleader, extra hands and book of knowledge to help you meet your goals while keeping your sanity, and hopefully your sleep!
Connect with other breastfeeding moms and get support from our lactation consultants in our group support sessions. Make new friends. Navigate those postpartum challenges and emotions.
Baby has been nursing so well, and now they won’t take a bottle? Is that a thing? It can be. Let’s work together to solve that challenge so that you can go out on date night… or back to work!
What is the best food to start with? How much should my baby eat?
How do I wean?
Education and support throughout the first year.
Twenty seven years ago, while anxiously navigating life as a brand new, breastfeeding parent, I was fortunate enough to happen upon a local group of “nursing moms.” This peer led group not only provided me with tremendous support and non judgmental education about this overwhelming new phase, but also allowed me the opportunity to provide others with the same support and knowledge as a peer counselor. Peer counselor led to counseling mentor and trainer, IBCLC intern, and then IBCLC. All of a sudden, I am entering my 20th year as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I have been given the incredible gift of seeing hundreds of new mothers become confident and empowered parents on their own journey. I’ve also gotten to give thousands of baby squishes!
After working closely with a local pediatric practice for 11 years, I have decided to go back out into the community and provide in home lactation consultations, telehealth for fast support when appropriate, and opportunities for peer to peer connections for other new parents. My own Nurslings are growing up, so I have more time to dedicate to other growing families!
We come to you. Lactation support is provided in person in your home. NO need to take baby out of the home for another office visit. Travel radius of 15 miles from 19382. Additional distances considered with a modest travel fee.
